REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have experience cleaning and caring for pools
  • Must have valid SC Driver's License with a good driving record

  SUMMARY  

Maintains the cleanliness and functionality of the pools and water-related features of Sea Mist Resort and affiliated properties by supervising staff and by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Rinsing and pressure washing decks, tiles, pools, and furniture.

·         Handling problems associated with pools.

·         The ability to lead and work as part of a team.

·         Regular attendance.

·         Wear a skid-resistant work shoe with good support.

·         Report any issues, broken equipment, safety concerns to Grounds and Pools Manager.

·         Use landscape equipment often.

·         Build and maintain structures as directed by Director of Amenities.

 

Assist as needed with the following;

·         Rake and bag leave.

·         Cleans grounds and removes litter.

·         Shovel snow from walks and driveways.

·         Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.

·         Clean out drainage ditches and culverts.

·         Make minor repairs on equipment such as pool cleaning equipment, lawnmower, spreader, etc.

·         Waste management.

Other duties may be assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in the Pools Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in horticulture.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

                                               

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

             Valid South Carolina driver's license required.
