SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing various aspects of the HR function.  In this generalist role, the HR Manager will play a key role in managing HR initiatives across departments including talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, benefits, payroll, and employee relations.  This position interacts with all levels within the organization and reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·   Develop HR infrastructure including all HR processes, policies and procedures

·   Direct administration of benefits, payroll and 401(k) programs

·   Design, evaluate and modify benefits policies to ensure that programs are current and competitive

·   Conduct onboarding, offer letter generation, and terminations

·   Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and management

·   Design and implement performance management and improvement systems

·   Plan and coordinate company events

·   All other duties and projects as assigned

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

·   Must have experience in recruiting exempt and non-exempt positions

·   Must have experience in benefits administration

·   Must have experience managing and resolving employee issues, with a proven record as a mentor and coach to employees and managers on various issues related to performance management, compensation, and employee relations

·   Strong understanding of Federal, state, local and employment law

·   Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

·   Solid organizational and time management skills

·   Results driven, with ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

·   Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills

·   Must have experience in payroll administration

·   Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations

·   Excellent interpersonal skills

·   Ability to influence decision making

·   Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with a sense of urgency

·   Adaptability and flexibility

·   Strong sense of professional ethics, discretion and confidentiality

·   HR Certification (PHR/SPHR) preferred

 

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·   Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or Organization Development

·   Minimum 2-5 years of relevant HR experience as an HR generalist/manager  

·   Experience with HRIS system,

 

·   WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

·   Normal office environment with some exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like

·   Sitting or standing for long periods

·   Standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds

·   Operation of standard business equipment such as calculators, fax machines, computer printer, and photocopiers

·   Extended viewing of computer screen
