Are you a creative and video-savvy student looking to gain real-world experience while making a difference in the lives of Albertans living with disabilities? Easter Seals Alberta is seeking a passionate and driven Digital Marketing Summer Student to join our team for the summer season.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a student in marketing, communications, or digital media who is eager to build their portfolio, develop their skill set, and work on meaningful projects that raise awareness for a great cause. You'll work alongside our Marketing Lead to develop engaging content, support digital campaigns, and showcase the heart of our organization through social media and video storytelling.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Digital Marketing Summer Student, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating emotionally resonant, brand-aligned content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Capturing and editing short-form video content to spotlight behind-the-scenes moments, community stories, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Writing thoughtful, on-brand captions that reflect our voice—fun, heartfelt, and empowering—and scheduling posts for consistent online presence.
  • Monitoring and engaging with our online community to help build meaningful connections and increase awareness.
  • Assisting with planning and implementing content calendars and social media campaigns.
  • Contributing to email marketing efforts by designing graphics and drafting engaging content.
  • Editing and organizing photos and video content for digital and promotional use.
  • Participating in general office tasks and team support as needed.

What You Bring to the Team

We’re looking for a creative, self-starting team player who is:

  • Passionate about storytelling and the power of digital media to inspire and uplift.
  • Familiar with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar programs.
  • Confident filming and editing short-form video content using your phone or DSLR cameras (e.g. Canon Rebel).
  • Up to date on social media trends, especially Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple projects, staying organized, and working independently.
  • Willing to appear in front of the camera for trend-based or behind-the-scenes content.
  • Open to supporting fundraising efforts, including creating donation-driven content.
  • Comfortable following brand guidelines while bringing fresh ideas to the table.
  • Reliable in commuting to our Calgary office.
  • Able to complete a background check if selected.

  • This role is made possible through funding from the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Program, which supports employment opportunities for youth across Canada.
  • To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria as outlined by the CSJ program:
  • Be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
  • International students and those on temporary work permits are unfortunately not eligible under this program.
