Data Manager

The Data Manager designs, deploys, and manages the data infrastructure that supports the Company’s data-driven operations.  The ideal candidate will have previous DBA experience and will maintain a hands-on approach with integrated data-centric systems, such as Enterprise Resource Planning, Electronic Quality Management Systems, Lab Information Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management, and other content/data management systems.

Essential Duties:

  • Designs, implements, and supports complex data-driven infrastructures
  • Operates interdepartmentally, often serving as a project team member
  • Serve within the chain of custody for delivery of customer data via multiple protocols
  • Directly drives and supports company data operations as a subject matter expert
  • Establishes rules and procedures for the sharing of data with leadership, project teams, and external stakeholders
  • Develop and implement efficient data systems using industry-accepted best practices
  • Assists with the planning, design, research, and acquisition of data-centric systems and software systems in accordance with the Company’s SDLC
  • Supports complex data and modeling through system reporting, queries, and scripting
  • Oversees, recommends and implements escalation level database solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance
  • Performs audit functions across data systems
  • Performs other reasonable duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline required
  • 6+ years of experience working in data management or analysis
  • 4+ years of experience working in Linux/UNIX environments
  • Demonstrated proficiency with at least two of the following languages: Python, SQL, HTML, PHP, CSS, R, generic DDL/DCL/DML statements
  • Experience with modern database and information system technologies
  • Proven experience working with various APIs in a cross-functional environment
  • Proven experience enabling systems integration and connectivity
  • Proven knowledge of SQL database infrastructures
  • Experience working with quality documentation and procedures
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems or other scientific applications is desired
  • Experience working within Amazon Web Services (AWS) s3 is desired
