Analyst - Accounting

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to deepen your experience in property accounting and financial reporting? We're looking for an Analyst - Accounting to join our team and play a key role in supporting accounting processes for a dynamic portfolio of real estate properties, including complex and disposed assets.

In this role, you'll work closely with our Senior Manager - Accounting and collaborate cross-functionally with property managers and other internal teams. If you're passionate about real estate, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are eager to grow your expertise, we want to hear from you! 

• Prepare monthly accounting for complex (level 3) and disposed properties.
• Compile monthly financial reports: charge rents, post journal entries, and review capital and rent schedules.
• Review activated lease amendments to ensure accuracy for reporting and tenant ledgers.
• Partner with property managers to resolve property-related inquiries and review operating/receivable reports.
• Assist with monthly operating cost estimates and year-end operating cost billing packages.
• Review invoices in Payscan for coding accuracy.

• Prepare quarterly analytical workbooks for MD&A and financial statement disclosures.
• Support GST and state tax remittance processes.
• Assist with annual budgeting and operating cost processes.
• Provide documentation and support for audit requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in real estate and/or with Yardi is a strong asset.
• Full-cycle accounting experience.
• Bachelor of Commerce degree, Accounting Diploma, or relevant real estate experience.
• CPA designation (completed or in progress) is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
