Application Engineer

Job Summary:

The Application Engineer provides technical support on all aspects of Wine Guardian products and services to distributors, architects, engineers, contractors and customers.  Provides training for distributors on new and existing products and creates and updates product literature.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

• Provide technical support to distributors, architects, engineers, contractors, and end users by assisting in equipment sizing, answering technical questions, and providing layouts and drawings as needed.
• Ability to understand architectural and mechanical layout drawings while providing guidance on best practices for application of Wine Guardian products including unit selection, ductwork design, piping design, and unit placement.
• Provide Distributor training on new and existing products and services either in-person or through virtual meetings.
• Responsible for the Wine Guardian distributor information portal and updating product documents as needed.
• Provide system troubleshooting support to our Service Department as needed.
• Update Sales Literature and technical documents as products are developed or evolve.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree in a technical field required, bachelor’s preferred.
• Proficient personal computer skills using Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Solidworks are a plus.

Special Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally. Travel includes both one day and overnight trips.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of HVAC principles of design and application or willingness to learn.
• Proven ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and technical instructions or manuals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Close mental and visual attention to prepare and analyze data and figures and work on a computer.
• Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl, or bend, and perform repetitive motions with hands and/or wrists.
• Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
• Required to use safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves while performing specific tasks.

Work Environment:

• Typical office environment with some exposure to the manufacturing floor and outside travel.
