The Role

As a Gardener, you'll be responsible for nurturing and maintaining the health and aesthetic appeal of various outdoor spaces. Your duties will encompass a range of tasks, from planting and pruning to watering and weeding. Your expertise will contribute to the creation and upkeep of vibrant gardens, parks, and landscapes, ensuring they remain beautiful and thriving year-round. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Ensure the planting and maintenance of plants, flowers, shrubs in order to ensure that garden beds are kept neat and attractive.
• Basic knowledge and identification of flowers and plants, their needs and how to care for them.
• Knowledge of gardening tasks is required (pruning, planting, digging holes, weed control, raking, growing zones).
• Some landscape planning with aesthetic considerations.
• Plant and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants.
• Ongoing garden maintenance through thorough watering, food, and wedding schedule.
• Container gardening water plan and implementation.
• Work with hand tools and basic light machinery such as plant vehicles, and small rototillers.
• Maintain meticulous gardens by clearing rubbish and litter from garden beds and grounds.
• Must be physically able and willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Experience as a practicing gardener.
• A good knowledge of plant materials and the ability to propagate and grow a wide variety of plants .
• Attention to detail, a commitment to upholding safety standards and guest satisfaction, ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to identify insect pests, diseases and weeds and to treat them in the most effective manner.
• Ability to make the most effective use of fertilizers and an understanding of the water requirements of plants.
• Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to contribute to a fun and energetic atmosphere.
• Must be physically capable of performing required duties.
• Ability to deal courteously with the public.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
