Porter Job Description

We're looking for a reliable and dedicated Porter to join our team at Antun’s in Queens Village. As a porter, you'll play a key role in ensuring our events run smoothly by preparing the space and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Event Setup:
  • Set up and break down event spaces according to floor plans and event specifications.
  • Arrange and move tables, chairs, staging, and other furniture.
  • Prepare and set up chafing dishes and other food and beverage equipment.
• Cleaning & Maintenance:
  • Clean and maintain all areas of the catering hall, including event spaces, restrooms, lobbies, and back-of-house areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Ensure all restrooms are clean and fully stocked with supplies.
  • Properly dispose of trash and recycling.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks as needed.
• General Duties:
  • Assist with deliveries and manage storage areas.
  • Help the kitchen and serving staff as needed.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with staff and clients.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
