Position Description


eCampus.com is currently seeking an Lead Store Associate for the AU Outfitters Campus Store located at Anderson University in Anderson, SC. eCampus.com is a leading bookstore management company for over 300 academic institutions and is the managing partner for campus store retail operations on the university’s campus.  The Lead Bookstore Associate will offer superior customer service and will support all store management and operations. 





This position encompasses responsibilities related to retail sales, communication, operations, human sources, merchandising and exceptional customer service.  Detailed responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


Leadership and Staff Development


·         Motivate and communicate with the retail staff

·         Display a passion for the brand and set stage for daily operations

·         Participate in staff meetings

·         Develop and coach a team that provides a superior customer experience

·         Ensure that all team members adhere to all employment policies

·         Assist store management with the student staff hire and schedule process

·         Assist store management in the performance evaluation and review process

·         Create a fun and exciting atmosphere for employees focusing on staff retention

Visual Merchandising Management

·         Manage the efficient process of merchandise receipt, processing, merchandise placement, replenishment, and markdowns

·         Maintain high standards of a clean and neat sales floor and cash wrap

·         Assist store management with store sets and promotional event planning

Operations and Performance

·         Ability to open and close the store, handle transactions, and follow daily standard operations procedures. 

·         Ability to coordinate, setup and operate athletic venue and special events. 

·         Ensure online orders are filled and processed in a timely manner following company standards

·         Assist store management to update and obtain accurate inventory reporting

·         Strive to achieve daily, monthly, and annual sales goals

·         Maintain operational standards to secure the store’s assets

·         Develop a working knowledge of collegiate sports and university activities

·         Assist store management in achieving customer retention and customer loyalty goals

·         Perform related duties as required


Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


·         Minimum 1 year retail experience required

·         Ability to work a schedule based upon the business needs – including some nights, weekends and special events

·         Strong verbal and communication skills

·         Ability to work well within a team and in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

·         Normal office and retail environment

·         Sitting, standing, bending and lifting up to 30 pounds

·         Operation of standard business equipment

·         Follow proper safety standards
