Logistics Manager
Role: A Logistics Manager at Fidelity is responsible for ensuring external logistics are well coordinated and operate efficiently. The role will work with project managers, the procurement team, and external parties to ensure a smooth flow of goods to and from Fidelity. The logistics manager will work closely with the Shipper and Receiver to ensure all documentation is completed correctly and shipments are scheduled in a timely manner.
Duties Include:
- Managing tariff exposures on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Working with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of outgoing and incoming shipments
- Arrange shipments, scheduling pick-ups/drop offs, and tracking shipments to destinations
- Prepare shipping documents (Commercial Invoices, CUSMA, BOL, and labels)
- Working with customs clearance to avoid potential delays in shipments
- Weigh, measure, package, and ensure related documents are present for shipments
- Advise Project Managers of any shipment details and courier information
- Receive, identify and log all incoming shipments
- Check and inspect all incoming shipments for documents, correct quantities, and quality
- Inform staff when product is received and distribute accordingly
- Keep shipping and receiving areas of shop clean and well organized. Ensure that Health and safety Policies are followed
- Report any quality or timing related issues that occur at an outsource of service vendor that could potentially affect quality, cost or timing
- Completing any other tasks that are operational required
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Reference Check and Controlled Goods Screening
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years’ experience in a logistics environment
- Experience with domestic / international shipping
- Experience with international customs clearance
- Must be proficient with spoken and written English
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel an asset/ must be will to learn and comfortable using shipping software.
- Experience using ERP software an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, sitting for long period of time
- Forklift license or experience is considered and asset
Experience:
- 2 to 4 years of work experience
- Experience in the machining industry is considered an asset
- Experience with customs and international shipping is considered an asset
Core Work hours:
- 7:30am-4pm Monday – Friday
