Pharmacist
Responsible for management of retail and or clinic pharmacy operations at assigned location. Supervise staff and perform required administrative duties as directed by the PIC. Critically review prescriptions to assure accuracy and suitability. Consistently implement approved procedures for mixing, packaging, labeling and dispensing of pharmaceuticals to meet legal requirements and ensure quality and security. Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and medication storage to patients and health care personnel. Monitor patient compliance to insure optimal therapy outcomes and minimize harmful effects. Appropriately order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies and drugs. Work with technical staff to maintain adequate inventories and assure proper handling and storage. Maintain records, as required. Educate patients to help manage conditions such as diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, etc. Advise and train customers on the selection and use of equipment and supplies. Refer patients to other health professionals and agencies when appropriate. Provide status reports on operations and patient billing to Administrative team as directed. All other duties as assigned. Present a professional image via proper hygiene and grooming, as well as adherence to company dress code. Must be flexible and responsive to perform these and other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum B.S. Pharmacy degree. Must possess a current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Georgia. Two years’ experience in retail pharmacy and non-sterile compounding experience preferred. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job will be considered. Qualified candidates must be available to work schedules as directed per pharmacy location. Candidates must successfully pass pre-employment drug screen and back ground check.
