We are seeking an enthusiastic, scientifically motivated research scientist to join our chemical biology team. The candidate will play a significant role in the development and implementation of in vitro efforts to characterize, evaluate, and differentiate our small molecule therapeutics to advance early drug discovery projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the fields of cancer biology, cell biology, and small molecule cancer drug discovery. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong commitment to team success, ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. - Provide in-depth cancer biology, cell biology, chemical biology and pre-clinical expertise to ongoing and future drug discovery programs to help advance early drug discovery projects.
- Design and execute cell-based experiments to identify/validate/differentiate compound mechanism of action, inform on target and pathway modulation, and inform on cellular response to target perturbation.
- Work with multidisciplinary groups (pharmacology, translational biology, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry) to initiate and advance drug discovery programs.
- Ph.D. in Biology or other relevant disciplines with 1-5 years’ experience or equivalent in a research laboratory in an academic and/or industry setting
- Significant knowledge of cancer biology and experience in small molecule cancer drug discovery
- Well versed in the culture of cancer cell lines), and small molecule mechanism of action studies with experience in cell-based genetic engineering (RNAi, CRISPR, lentiviral overexpression), flow cytometry, and molecular biology (cloning) preferred.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and present data in a clear fashion is essential.
- Works well in a collaborative team-oriented environment and is capable of independently conducting innovative research.
