Job Summary

The Communications Coordinator advances the mission by delivering clear, compelling, and mission-aligned communications across all parish platforms. As a key member of the staff, this role ensures consistent messaging, supports ministry initiatives, and helps foster a vibrant, engaged parish community. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute an integrated communications plan ( internal and external) 
  • Create  communication timelines and promotional plans for major parish initiatives (e.g, Alpha, Lent, Advent, stewardship campaigns, parish missions). 
  • Maintain the Parish Communication Spreadsheet to coordinate and prioritize messaging.  
  • Prepare and distribute a weekly e-bulletin (MailChimp or similar platform) and maintain the distribution list. 
  • Provide regular updates and maintenance to the WordPress website. 
  • Oversee parish presence on social media platforms ( YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook)., ensuring consistent voice and branding . 
  • Update and maintain the parish outdoor digital sign. 
  • Oversee design and production of print materials (posters, postcards, signage, banners) as needed. 
  • Manage and prioritize communication requests from parish ministries and groups. 
  • Collaborate with the Pastor, Preaching and the Leadership Teams to produce graphics and promotional materials. 
  • Ensure theological accuracy and alignment with parish and diocesan guidelines in all published materials. 
  • Promote the Vision, Mission, and Discipleship Pathway through visual and written communications. 
  • Recruit, train, and support a communications volunteer team. 

 Qualifications

  • Active spiritual life rooted in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, committed to personal prayer, and active participation in a church community and has a passion for parish renewal. 
  • Experience in communications, marketing, media, or related fields (preferred). 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a face-paced environment. 
  • Detail oriented - while capable of strategic , big picture thinking.  
  • Proficiency with  WordPress (or similar platforms), social media tools, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, CANVA, and or Adobe Creative Suite, bulk email systems, and digital media tools.  
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Ability to  build and nurture relationships with staff and volunteers. 
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required for major parish initiatives or events.  
  • Embraces servant leadership - we lead by serving others. 

Conditions of Employment 

  • Satisfactory background check and in compliance with the Responsible Ministry Protocol  
  • Compliance with all relevant Archdiocesan policies 
  • This a part time position, 14-24 hours per week 
  • Frequent interaction with others
