What You'll Be Doing
As a Lead Road Service Mechanic, you’ll diagnose and repair vehicles in real time, responding to breakdowns and roadside service calls. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, independence, and the ability to solve problems quickly in the field.
In a Lead Road Service Mechanic capacity, you will also assist in developing solutions on an on-call basis when complex issues arise and provide guidance and mentoring to other field technicians.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicle issues roadside (light-duty and heavy-duty)
- Perform emergency repairs including batteries, tires, belts, hoses, brakes, and air lines
- Respond quickly and safely to service calls throughout the region
- Use mobile diagnostic equipment and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues
- Communicate with dispatch to update job status and coordinate support
- Maintain a stocked and organized service truck
- Follow all safety procedures while assisting customers roadside
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in mobile or roadside repair
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and hydraulics
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred)
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
