Lead Gallery Host (Front Desk Supervisor)

The Lead Gallery Host is the point person in the Gallery/Front Office. Responsibilities include overseeing gallery service, kitchen, bar, restaurant, monitoring staff performance, conducting team huddles, overseeing inventory and proper storage of food, equipment, and supplies, training new staff, conducting front desk and reservation duties, working with sales and other departments to maintain high standards of service and cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Training of all new Gallery Hosts
  • Conduct huddles to ensure clear communication of the days events to all Gallery Hosts
  • Food & Beverage inventory and ordering
  • Management of FIFO process with Food & Beverage
  • Conduct property tours for new hires and clients as necessary to assist the Sales department
  • Oversee group reservations to ensure that they are pre-assigned and pre-keyed
  • Initiate boards for Housekeeping in the AM
  • Walk through of public areas and kitchen with follow-up report/checklist to management
  • Responsible for overseeing proper meeting room set up/tear down for internal and external clients
  • Act as MOD in the absence of management
  • Inventory control of Gallery Host Stand supplies and kitchen supplies
  • City Ledger follow-up notices
  • Expedia/hotels.com billing
  • Perform other duties as requested from management.

  • Basic mathematical comprehension to understand and interpret numbers as they apply to operations in hotels.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate effectively with guests and employees.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to analyze information and make effective judgments.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Completion of all First Place Training Modules
  • Schedule flexibility – available to work any shift
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with other associates
  • A desire and the ability to grow into a management role is preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years combined prior front desk and supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Six months experience as a Gallery Host at Hyatt Place – (Senior Vice President approval required if less than six months experience)

EDUCATION

  • Minimum, High school diploma or GED
  • Must complete all hotel brand required training within 90 days of employment.

SUPERVISION

  • Supervises from the office staff
