Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Typical shift: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (subject to change based on business needs)
  • Weekday schedule
  • Location: Latrobe, PA

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment
  • Perform repairs on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air brake systems
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), fluid changes, and filter replacements
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform road/service calls as needed
  • Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot and identify failure modes
  • Work with systems including Cummins Insite, Mack PTT (Premium Tech Tool), DAVIE4 (PACCAR), and Meritor WABCO
  • Review and complete repairs from Driver Inspection Reports (DRIVRs)
  • Accurately document all work in repair logs and fleet maintenance systems (parts, labor, time)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work environment
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including Life Critical Rules (LCRs)
  • Communicate repair needs, updates, and concerns with Site Manager and Director of Maintenance
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong communication

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License required; CDL preferred (or ability to obtain through Pro Disposal)
  • Experience as a diesel or heavy-duty mechanic
  • High school diploma required
  • Trade school education (diesel/heavy equipment) preferred
  • Experience in waste industry a plus
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and air brakes
  • Experience with diagnostic software and computerized maintenance systems preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently

Additional Information

  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt position
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical labor (bending, twisting, repetitive motion)
  • Safety-sensitive position subject to DOT drug testing (including marijuana)
  • Ability to work in both shop and field environments
  • Must handle company and customer information professionally
