POSITION: Education Coordinator/Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Associate Director of Employment, Education, and Advocacy
SUMMARY: The Education Coordinator/Certified Peer Recovery Specialist is responsible for developing, organizing, and facilitating various educational trainings and activities directed at building self-advocacy skills that promote wellness and recovery. The Education Coordinator assists in the recovery process by facilitating structured trainings including but not limited to Building Recovery of Individual Dreams and Goals through Education and Support (BRIDGES) educational program, Introduction to Peer Support, Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP®) Seminar 1 and 2, and Emotional CPR. The Education Coordinators must be able to work effectively with peers, coworkers, stakeholder groups and the general public and must work effectively in a team environment. The Education Coordinator must be able to complete timely reports utilizing basic computer skills and Microsoft Office software.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent (Required). Must currently be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in the State of Tennessee or be willing and able to obtain the certification within 6 months of hire. click here for details: Cadre
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Office setting, with local, state and national travel required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience of facilitating education or support groups
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Must have good organizational skills
Ability to work effectively and respectfully with those living with mental health or substance use disorders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
Recognize scope of service requirements and be familiar with audit processes. Must have skills and be proficient with the techniques, concepts and principals to maintain and role model personal recovery

Experience with Wellness Recovery Action Planning, BRIDGES, and/or Emotional CPR is recommended but not required.
