JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our Bay Area-based home health agency. The RT will provide skilled respiratory care to patients in their homes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding counties, ensuring quality treatment aligned with physician orders, agency protocols, and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct in-home respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

- Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, nebulizer treatments, CPAP/BiPAP setup and education, and home ventilator care.

- Provide patient and caregiver education on respiratory conditions, equipment usage, and safety protocols.

- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment; coordinate with durable medical equipment (DME) vendors as necessary.

- Document clinical services accurately and in accordance with California Title 22, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and agency policies.

- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and case managers to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.

- Track patient progress, report significant changes, and adjust therapy plans as appropriate.

- Uphold all infection prevention and safety standards set by CDPH, OSHA, and agency procedures.

- Participate in interdisciplinary care meetings, ongoing training, and quality improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license (required).

- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).

- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted with experience.

- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience, preferably in home health or acute care.

- BLS certification required (ACLS preferred).

- Valid California driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle.

- Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).

- Strong communication and time management skills.

- Ability to work independently and navigate varied home environments.

 - South Bay (San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale)

 - Peninsula (Daly City, San Mateo, Redwood City, Palo Alto)

 - North Bay (Marin County, Napa, Sonoma)

- Occasional travel to adjacent counties may be required.

- Mileage reimbursement provided.
