POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Creative Services Manager, the Plate Technician performs any combination of duties including performing plate making for flexographic printing presses in the production department and all responsibilities pertaining to this function.  Position is first shift, 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs all platemaking functions including proofs all digital files prior to output to plates, plate staging, proofs plates prior to sending out to production floor, maintains and inspects plates prior to placing back into storage, operating plate-making equipment to convert digital files into digital plates for print production.
• Pre-Press functions including washing plates, labeling plates and filing plates.
• Coordinates with Inside Sales Representatives, buyer/planner, production coordinator, and pre-press technician for scheduling.
• Outputs all new and replacement digital plates for presses.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE

• Experience with Excel, Word and Plato preferred.
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependability and accountability to position schedule.
