Our payroll team is working hard to modernize the end user experience on one of the most important parts of our system: payroll! We’re moving to a modern stack of .NET Core based Web APIs on the back end and a responsive front end using React.


We’re looking for a versatile full stack engineer who will be able to design, build and maintain end-to-end web applications using the latest web technologies. The ideal candidate is able to mentor and lead a product team from a technical standpoint. They take pride in writing good, maintainable code and treats their profession as a craft. They will articulate technical concepts clearly and effectively, have a good understanding of software development methodologies and supporting tools, and demonstrated success working in a collaborative distributed environment.

This position is available for both full remote or hybrid (part remote / part onsite) candidates.


Responsibilities 

  • Be a technical leader for one of our product teams, working hand in hand with the team’s product owner and quality assurance lead to create a vision for the team’s success

  • Work closely with your team in an iterative, agile environment to design, develop, and maintain the code for a portion of our product suite

  • Take ownership of the work you and your team members create, swarm issues as they arise, and mentor the team through code reviews to maintain a sustainable flow of work

  • Collaborate with other teams across our organization to create solutions that help make our clients successful


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience with a primary focus in web application development

  • Proficient in developing backend APIs using .NET Web API

  • Proficient in creating single page applications using React

  • Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers

  • Comfort working with Git

  • Problem solving and troubleshooting

  • Experience giving meaningful code reviews

  • Proven communication skills, must embrace working in a highly collaborative environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment

  • Experience working on microservice architectures

  • Scrum Master experience or certification

  • Firm understanding of SOLID design principles

  • Understanding / experience using design patterns

  • Understanding / experience using unit testing

  • Experience working with Azure or AWS
