Garden Center Associate (Seasonal)

Garden Center Associates wanted at Pemberton Farms Marketplace, a fourth-generation family-owned unique specialty grocery store and garden center in North Cambridge, operating since 1930. Cambridge's #1 Garden Center is seeking some people to assist in running our garden center. Knowledge of retail, plant material such as annuals, perennials, indoor plants, and more is beneficial, but we're willing to train someone with a positive attitude.

Our store hours are 7am to 9pm Sunday through Thursday, and 7am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday. We are a 5-minute walk from the Davis Sq. T Stop. Weekends & holidays will be required. Must be available for at least three 8-hour shifts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Cash handling and use of cash register;
• Providing outstanding customer service including answering plant material related questions, directing customers to merchandise locations, and helping select products;
• Working well in a team-oriented environment;
• Answering the phones;
• Re-stocking and merchandising under supervision;
• Organizing plant material and maintaining plants with cleaning/ pruning tasks;
• General upkeep of work area including cleaning and organizing;
• Lifting items that weigh as much as 50lbs repeatedly;
• Standing on feet for up to 8 hours
