About the Role

The Dockhand maintains clean, safe, and hazard-free dock and resort areas while supporting marine operations, guest services, maintenance, and fish processing. The role includes assisting with boat docking, refueling, waste management, garden and patio upkeep, and contributing to a welcoming, high-quality guest experience. 

Key Responsibilities

·        Keep docks and resort areas clean, safe, and free of hazards; repair, remove, or report issues.

·        Catch lines, tie up arriving boats, and assist with docking procedures.

·        Pressure wash docks, wash windows, clean railings, and maintain patio/garden seating areas.

·        Manage trash, recycling, and propane tanks; ensure organized storage and readiness.

·        Maintain plants, water/fertilize gardens, and service fire tables and propane as needed.

·        Inspect, clean, and prepare kayaks and SUPs; conduct guest orientations for safe use.

·        Assist with all aspects of fish processing as required.

·        Support the maintenance technician with resort system maintenance tasks.

·        Greet guests, assist with luggage/coolers, and provide hot towels/totes for daily catch. 

Qualifications

Required

·        Legally entitled to work in Canada

·        PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card)

·        Ability to work independently with strong prioritization and time-management skills

·        Ability to work quickly without compromising quality

·        Strong focus on cleanliness and safety

·        WHMIS certification

Preferred

·        OFA1 (Occupational First Aid Level 1)

·        Food Safe Level 1 or Process Safe

·        Familiarity with west coast saltwater fishing and marine operations
