Position Overview
Cameo Consulting Group, LLC. is seeking an experienced Project Management Support Specialist to support the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office, Site Stewardship Division (SSD).
This full-time position provides program and project management support for land management activities, environmental compliance, and the long-term stewardship of the Hanford Site. The selected candidate will help ensure that Site Stewardship Division activities are planned, coordinated, documented, monitored, and executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable DOE, federal, state, and site-specific requirements.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with demonstrated knowledge of the Hanford Site mission and experience in land management, land use planning, environmental governance, regulatory strategy, stakeholder coordination, and long-term stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Management Support Specialist will perform duties that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Site Stewardship Division projects, tasks, milestones, and program activities.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, work plans, action-item lists, task trackers, and related project-management documentation.
- Coordinate with internal DOE organizations, subject-matter experts, field personnel, contractors, and management to support successful program execution.
- Support program interfaces involving real property, environmental compliance, cultural resources, ecological resources, land access, and related stewardship functions.
- Compile, organize, validate, and maintain land-management data, maps, files, records, and supporting documentation.
- Track project performance against established schedules, milestones, deliverables, and management expectations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining performance metrics, management dashboards, status indicators, and reporting tools.
- Identify potential schedule delays, technical issues, coordination barriers, or other program risks and communicate concerns promptly to project leadership.
- Support implementation of Site Stewardship program requirements, procedures, and management expectations.
- Assist with land use planning, land-access coordination, land-status tracking, institutional controls, and related long-term stewardship activities.
- Prepare and submit weekly status reports to the Technical Monitor addressing work accomplished, progress toward deliverables, upcoming activities, issues requiring attention, and potential impacts to schedule or performance.
- Prepare meeting materials, briefing documents, correspondence, presentations, and other program-support documentation as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree required.
- Master’s degree in a related discipline—such as Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Land Use Planning, or a closely related field—is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience supporting one or more of the following areas:
- Land management
- Land use planning
- Long-term stewardship
- Environmental governance
- Environmental compliance
- Regulatory strategy
- Federal site-management programs
- Demonstrated working-level knowledge of the Hanford Site mission, land development policies, procedures, and related site activities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects in highly regulated environmental, federal, or government-contractor environments.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant collaboration or document-management tools.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and timely technical, project-management, and status-reporting documentation.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Experience and Capabilities
Strong preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders, including internal organizations, senior management, federal and state regulatory agencies, tribal nations, community representatives, and contractor organizations.
- Experience supporting Hanford-related land management, land use planning, long-term stewardship, real estate, institutional controls, or environmental compliance functions.
- Experience with real estate and property-management activities, including land documentation, leases, property records, land-use strategy, land access, and related coordination.
- Familiarity with DOE program and project-management practices, policies, procedures, and governance processes.
- Working knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements associated with DOE, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Washington State Department of Health, and other applicable federal, state, local, or interface agencies.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable federal and state environmental, land-management, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with senior-level managers, technical personnel, regulators, and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, mission-critical environment.
Work Location and Other Requirements
- The successful candidate must be able to work during core business hours at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site in Richland, Washington.
- Telework eligibility, if available, will be determined by the Technical Monitor and may be modified or revoked at any time based on contract, mission, security, or program needs.
- The selected candidate must comply with all site-specific safety, security, badging, office, and access requirements.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required onboarding processes, including execution of a Non-Disclosure Agreement and Conflict-of-Interest documentation.
