Director of Respiratory Therapy – Skilled Nursing Facility | 3549421

Location: Miami, FL


A skilled nursing facility is seeking a Director of Respiratory Therapy with at least 2 years of prior Director-level experience in a SNF or post-acute setting. This is not a first-time leadership opportunity. Candidates without Director-level respiratory leadership experience in a skilled nursing environment will not be considered.


Position Overview

The Director of Respiratory Therapy is responsible for full operational oversight of respiratory services within the facility. This includes regulatory compliance, staffing oversight, clinical quality, infection control collaboration, and survey readiness.

You will be accountable for respiratory program performance, documentation compliance, and interdisciplinary coordination.


Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) – Active State License
  • Minimum 2+ years of Director-level Respiratory Therapy experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Post-Acute setting
  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations related to SNF respiratory services
  • Survey oversight experience
  • Experience managing staffing schedules and respiratory coverage
  • Background in ventilator management within long-term care
  • Working knowledge of infection prevention protocols

Candidates with only hospital-based leadership experience will not be considered.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all respiratory therapy operations within the facility
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain survey readiness at all times
  • Lead respiratory documentation accuracy and Medicare compliance
  • Manage respiratory staffing, scheduling, and performance accountability
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership on clinical quality initiatives
  • Participate in QAPI and performance improvement efforts
  • Support census capability for vent and high-acuity respiratory residents
