Harbor View Hotel is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to join our team!
Position Overview:
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the housekeeping department managing the housekeeping team, ensuring clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of hotel rooms, common areas and grounds. In addition, they oversea the laundry department to ensure needs for the entire operation are met, including keeping an accurate and ample inventory to ensure a smooth operation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Motivate, lead and inspire the housekeeping team to ensure each person has the training, tools and support to excel in their roles including, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.
- Ensure and maintain cleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms in accordance with federal, local and company health, sanitation and safety standards.
- Lead and administer all housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, systems use and management, inventory control, department management, policy and procedure implementation & enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation.
- Work closely with Maintenance team to maintain rooms and public space quality in line with Forbes hotel standards.
- Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for team members and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
- Monitors team progress daily and inspects completed rooms to assure that all standards have been met; When standards have been missed, brings employee back to room and coaches the employee on how to correct the deficiency
- Follow up with any guest concerns by resolving discrepancies to the satisfaction of the guest within hotel standard.
- Manage labor to maximize efficiency by planning and forecasting.
- Demonstrate standards awareness, by setting examples for standards execution, standards testing and implementing action plans to achieve established product and service goals
- Ensures employees adhere to the code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards as specified in the employee handbook
- Other relative tasks assigned by Hotel Management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A true desire to provide luxury service and a great work environment.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- 3+ years of progressive Hotel Housekeeping Supervisory level experience
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator and effective in providing exceptional customer service
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
Qualifications Desired:
- Prior experience working at a luxury seasonal Hotel or Resort
- Prior experience as a Housekeeping Manager at a property with at least 100 rooms
- Previous Forbes Travel Guide or similar training
- CPR certification
- Familiarization with Opera and HotSOS
