Police Dispatcher - Charlton Police Department

The Town of Charlton is seeking a full time Public Safety Dispatcher for our Police Department. The position is responsible for receiving 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency telephone calls, maintaining radio communications with police, fire, and EMS, and assisting the general public.  Other functions include Emergency Medical Dispatch, receiving, and transmitting fire alarms, deploying law enforcement, fire and ambulance personnel and related equipment.

Qualifications: 

CJIS, E911, Emergency Medical Dispatch (Powerphone EMD), APCO PST1, C.P.R. Training and certification, experience as a police and fire dispatcher and knowled of IMC preferred. 

All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background investigation and achieve the required certifications. Hourly rate is $28.33 with step progression up to 29.50/hr. Rates are set by the union contract.  Shift differential for evening and mid shifts.  This is a 40 hour per week, union, benefited position.
