The Internal Auditor will work to help maintain Payworks security through the use of operational controls. As part of the Treasury & Governance team, the Internal Auditor will be responsible for administering the annual CSAE3416 process, as well as ensuring internal controls remain relevant, effective and regularly tested.
Working closely with control owners, performers and senior leadership the Internal Auditor will provide guidance on Payworks policies, procedures, and practices to help ensure compliance requirements are met.
+ Providing recommendations to our Audit firm in regards to updating the narratives, as well as acting as the key point of contact for our External auditors.
+ Issuing Comfort or Bridge letters as required.
+ Assisting others in ensuring effective controls are in place to eliminate business risk, drawing on education and experience to provide guidance and recommendations.
+ Ensuring the documentation of clear, repeatable, reliable test scripts that produce unambiguous results, as well as the regular testing of those scripts.
+ Conducting ongoing evaluations of the effectiveness of controls, while ensuring the requirement for any additional controls is considered.
+ Cultivating an environment that fosters open dialogue and sharing of ideas with all stakeholders regarding the audit process and audit improvements.
+ Reporting quarterly to Senior Management, providing recommendations for policy, procedure and practice improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field of study, accompanied by a formal certification (CA/CMA/CGA).
+ Minimum of three year’s work experience in an auditing capacity.
+ Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
+ Exceptional critical thinking skills.
+ Experience with business process documentation/requirements.
+ An innovative thinker who can communicate and drive initiatives and projects as it relates to internal audit.
+ Proficient with office applications, technically strong and detail-oriented.
+ Strong business acumen.
