Police Dispatcher - Charlton Police Department
The Town of Charlton is seeking a full time Public Safety Dispatcher for our Police Department. The position is responsible for receiving 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency telephone calls, maintaining radio communications with police, fire, and EMS, and assisting the general public if they walk into the station. Other functions include Emergency Medical Dispatch instruction, listening skills and prioritizing, receiving, and transmitting fire alarms, deploying law enforcement, fire and ambulance personnel and related equipment.
Applicants with CJIS, E911, Emergency Medical Dispatch (Powerphone EMD), APCO PST1, C.P.R. Training and certification, experience as a police and fire dispatcher and knowled of IMC is preferred, but not required.
All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background investigation and achieve the required certifications. Hourly rate is $27.80. The union is currently in contract negotiations. Rates are set by the union contract. Shift differential for evening and mid shifts. This is a 40 hour per week, union, benefited position.
