Salary & Benefits: $25-$32 an hour seasonal. Winter part-time work available. $1000 health spending account. Staff accommodations $150/month.
Job Description
The Operations Manager at Cedar and Spruce Campgrounds plays a critical role in ensuring the campground’s success by overseeing seamless daily operations and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This position manages all aspects of operations, including staff leadership, guest services, and facility maintenance, while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
As the primary liaison between management and staff, the Operations Manager fosters a positive and collaborative work environment, emphasizing outstanding service and creating memorable experiences for visitors. Key responsibilities include leading and coordinating a team of employees, managing schedules, and ensuring all operational processes align with the company’s goals and standards.
In collaboration with the Office Manager, the Operations Manager ensures the efficient administration of the campground office. This includes accurate financial reporting, effective management of reservation data, and comprehensive support for the campground’s leadership team. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual who thrives in an outdoor setting, is passionate about hospitality, and has a proven ability to drive operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day campground operations, including reservations, guest check-ins, and site assignments, maintenance and employee relations.
Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Ensure all campground amenities and facilities are well-maintained, functional, and safe.
Staff Supervision and Training:
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise campground staff, including maintenance personnel, park attendants, store personnel and campground hosts.
Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and accountability.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff members.
Guest Services:
Ensure high standards of customer service by addressing guest inquiries, complaints and incidents promptly and professionally.
Develop strategies to enhance the guest experience and promote repeat business.
Handle conflict resolution and ensure a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
Maintenance and Safety:
Oversee the maintenance of all campground facilities, including campsites, comfort stations, day-use areas, and garbage bins.
Identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff.
Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs or maintenance projects as needed.
Community and Public Relations:
Act as a contact for guests, local authorities, and community organizations.
Promote the campground through community engagement and by fostering positive relationships with local businesses and tourism boards.
Represent the campground at community events and meetings as required.
Key Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Excel and Word.
3 years of management experience
Previous campground or operational management
Valid class 5 driver’s license
Current First Aid Level 1
Criminal Record Check (required before hiring, cost will be reimbursed, employment contingent on clear record)

Working Conditions
