After-school Program Substitute

School Age Permanent Sub - Weymouth, Quincy, and Randolph locations as needed

$18.69/hour  M-F 2:30-6:00

Substitute for center staff in any of the five after school programs and assist in all aspects of the center’s operation. Forty-five week, school year position.

Responsibilities

· Participate in planning and implementing program goals and objectives.

· Develop strong positive relationships with each child.

· Help plan and supervise daily activities.

· Work directly with children, individually and in groups.

· Assist in food preparation.

· Assist in keeping the center clean and organized.

· Assist in covering a bus route.

· Greet parents and share children’s interests and activities.

· Refer parent concerns to Center Director.

· Attend staff meetings and appropriate trainings.

· Assist in maintaining behavioral limits and classroom order.

· All other assigned duties.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma.

· Experience working with children in formal or informal settings.

· Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to any assigned center.

· Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including early release days and full days during school vacations.

· High energy, warm and nurturing personality.

· Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Reports to: Center Director and Assistant Center Director

*All South Shore Stars employees should be able to lift at least 40 pounds, and work in a non-sedentary environment.
