Embroidery Machine Operator

Machine Operators work industrial embroidery machines to place decisions on merchandise. The embroidery machine operator's responsibilities include setting up embroidery machines and troubleshooting equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean, fold QC, press and bag item
  • Observes sewing operation to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and corrects malfunction when needed
  • Obtain embroidery design files and download from database to embroidery machine
  • Selects size and color thread and draws it through machine guides and bobbin
  • Observes sewing operation to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notifies supervisor of malfunction
  • Reads work order to determine type and location of embroidery
  • May repair defective embroidery or fill in blanks left by embroidery machine
  • Ensure items are embroidered with correct logo and colors as noted on work order
  • Ensure that daily manufacturing schedules are met
  • Minor routine maintenance/repair of equipment

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend for up to 8 hours/day
  • Perform quality control on the apparel, organize, pack and prep boxes for shipment
  • Previous embroidery machine a plus

Must have:

High school diploma or GED
