Valley Oak SPCA is a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization. This job posting is for our Veterinary Clinic Department.
We are seeking a part-time Kennel Technician with the opportunity to grow into a Customer Service Representative (CSR) role after approximately three months, based on performance and fit.
Position OverviewThis is a hybrid role that combines kennel support with front desk responsibilities. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, strong communication skills and eager to learn both the clinical and customer service sides of veterinary care.
- Veterinary clinic experience and knowledge of veterinary products preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
- Computer literate
- Available to work Saturdays
- Available to work until 8:30 PM occasionally
- Comfortable working with cats and dogs
Kennel Assistant:
- Clean and maintain kennels to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
- Perform laundry duties
- Prepare and organize surgical packs (pack room duties)
- Assist with closing procedures
- Support overall clinic cleanliness and workflow
- Always operate with urgency and care, representing our organization with professionalism and compassion
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and assist clients with questions and needs
- Schedule appointments and manage a busy clinic calendar
- Collect payments for services and products
- Act as an advocate for animals and provide excellent client support
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with a diverse client base
- Reliable and punctual
This position is designed as a pathway into a Customer Service Representative (CSR) role. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and customer service skills may be transitioned into a front desk–focused position after approximately three months.
