Commissary & Catering Delivery Driver
Who We’re Looking For
The Commissary & Catering Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering food, beverages, and supplies promptly while following all company standards for food safety, professionalism, and customer service. This role supports both internal commissary deliveries to restaurant locations and external catering deliveries to guests and event sites. External Catering Deliveries paid at $19.70/hour (+ tips averaging $75 to $100 each catering). Internal Commissary deliveries to restaurants paid at $25.00 - $27.00/hour (DOE) using company truck/van.
The ideal Candidate is someone who takes ownership of their work, is highly reliable, can represent the company Brand at every delivery, and ensures accuracy, timeliness, and Client satisfaction as they deliver to restaurant locations and catering Clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
They are responsible for delivering food, beverages, and supplies promptly while following all company standards for food safety. This role supports both internal commissary deliveries to restaurant locations and external catering deliveries to Clients and event sites.
What You’ll Do for Caterings
• Deliver food and beverages to guests promptly and according to company standards
• Safely load, transport, and deliver food, beverages, and supplies
• Ensure 100% order accuracy before leaving the Commissary
• Maintain proper food temperatures during transport
• Set up basic catering layouts when required
• Explain menu items and answer Client questions professionally
• Ensure Client satisfaction by addressing guest needs and requirements
• Process payments/invoices in POS accurately
• Track and report mileage, tips, and hours worked
• Keep your vehicle clean, organized, and delivery ready
• Communicate with Catering Manager regarding delivery schedules, delays, or guest concerns
What You’ll Do for Commissary Transfers to Restaurants
• Load, transport, and unload food, prep items, and supplies safely into and out of company vehicle
• Verify orders against packing lists before departure and at delivery
• Follow standard routes or follow navigation systems and road signs to reach destinations efficiently
• Maintain temperature integrity during transportation
• Collect and return signed delivery documentation when required
• Communicate shortages, substitutions, or discrepancies in real time
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of company delivery vehicle
• Conduct routine vehicle checks and report any issues promptly
What Qualifications Do You Need
• Required California Food Handler Certification
• Valid California Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record
• Valid Vehicle Insurance (when using personal vehicle)
• Ability to be added to company Vehicle Insurance (when using company vehicle)

What Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Do You Need
• Ability to read, write, and speak English (fluent in Spanish desirable, not required)

• Familiarity with restaurant industry standards, concepts, practices, and procedures
• Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of Associates, Management, and Clients
• Ability to rely on experience and judgment when appropriate
• Consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs and perform frequent loading/unloading
