PTA Operator

PTA Operator
We are seeking an energetic Plasma Transfer Arcing (PTA) Operator to join our team at our Leduc facility. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced shop environment and takes pride in working safely, efficiently, and with high attention to detail.
PRIMARY DUTIES
• Fabricate and repair metallic parts through the setup and operation of automated PTA machines, torches, grinders, hydraulic presses, and similar equipment.
• Layout and measure work carefully by using minor precision tools.
• Uses, adjusts, cleans, and stores the tools, machinery, and equipment of the welding trade.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, conveyors, and similar handling equipment.
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
• Performs other duties as necessary or as requested by the Shop Foreman.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to describe processes or procedures.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and take a leadership role when required
QUALIFICATIONS
• Preferred two years weld operator experience in oilfield manufacturing, PTA operation, torch operation, grinding; or as deemed sufficient by management.
• Knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment standard to the welding trade.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of the welding trade.
• Ability to visualize parts and layout requirements that need to be made from drawings, sketches, or oral instructions.
• Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation which takes place in an on-the-job setting.
• High School education or equivalent, or as deemed sufficient by management.
