Position: Onshore/Offshore Electrical Technician
Main Purpose: Are you passionate about electrical systems and troubleshooting? Join our team to perform electrical wiring, repairs, and maintenance both in the shop and out in the field. Your expertise will ensure our equipment runs smoothly and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and symbols.
- Wire single-phase and three-phase AC circuits, as well as DC circuits.
- Install, calibrate, and wire electrical components.
- Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on cranes and other equipment.
- Assist in testing electrical components during refurbishment projects.
- Provide recommendations for ordering electrical spares and consumables.
- Uphold and enhance the company's image and reputation.
- Manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Conduct technical and economic assessments for refurbishment and new equipment sales.
- Adhere to Sparrows Offshore’s Quality Policy and comply with all quality system requirements, operating procedures, and workplace instructions.
- Follow all safety and environmental regulations.
- Willingness to work offshore as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required by the supervisor.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.
- Experience with high and low voltage.
- Knowledgeable about motors and phasing.
- Experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems is a plus.
- Strong repair skills.
- Familiarity with rigging practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Must possess own hand tools.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
Preferred Skills:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- PLC knowledge is a plus.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
