Ingénieur électrique planification long terme / Long-term planning electrical engineer
Reporting to the Electrical Coordinator, the Long-Term Planning Electrical Engineer will be responsible for planning expansion work on the 15 kV network, as well as the maintenance required for surface and underground infrastructures. This position is telecommuting with occasional site visits.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop standards and procedures for electrical work;
- Develop a preventive maintenance plan, spare parts management plan and documentation management for a 69 kV power line.
- Implement and monitor the lockout program for electrical work on the medium-voltage network;
- Program protective relays for new installations.
- Review site medium-voltage plans and ensure that updates are made and communicated as soon as possible;
- Prepare the planning of new installations for the life of the mine and participate in the preparation of the annual budget;
- Identify future needs to maintain and improve the electrical reliability of equipment through a preventive maintenance program;
- Participate in the coordination of engineering or project work required to maintain electrical installations;
- Ensure the quality of technical documentation for assets;
- Provide electrical references for new equipment to maintenance teams;
- Coordinate and plan major electrical shutdowns to ensure the long-term operability of electrical equipment;
- Participate in the implementation and monitoring of Arcflash standards;
- Plan and organize work on the site's medium-voltage network;
- Write daily progress reports, as well as monthly reports and associated variances;
- Ensure regulatory compliance of electrical installations from power generation to distribution;
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety and accident prevention standards, and implement corrective measures when required;
- Perform any other tasks related to the position of Electrical Engineer that are relevant to the success of the project.
Required qualifications
- University degree in electrical engineering;
- Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- 5 to 7 years' relevant experience in electrical engineering and medium voltage;
- Hold a valid class 5 driver's license;
- Hold an explosives license;
- Successful completion of mining modules 1-2-3-4-5 and 7 (an asset).
Technical skills
- Knowledge of codes and regulations governing electrical work;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
- Very good knowledge of specialized software such as AutoCAD and ETAP.
- Knowledge of SAP maintenance.
- Knowledge of the Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories environment.
- Knowledge of CMMS.
