Position Summary
Barron Industries is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Technician to support aerospace and defense programs through laboratory-based materials and metallurgical testing. This role requires hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment and familiarity with aerospace quality standards.
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory inspections on metal components
- Conduct metallurgical and materials testing, including:
- Chemical analysis using spectrometers
- Tensile testing
- Charpy impact testing
- Analyze and document test results in accordance with AS9100 and aerospace/defense quality requirements
- Maintain accurate quality documentation and inspection records
- Create customer certification document
- Record scrapped product
- Support corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure product compliance
- Ensure mission-critical components meet customer, regulatory, and internal specifications
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on laboratory or materials testing experience in manufacturing
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in precision casting, investment casting, metalcasting, or precision machining
- Associate degree or higher in engineering, lab technology, or related technical field
- AS9100 training or experience
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing background
