Our typical customers stay with us much longer, often twice as long as the industry average.  A talented and effective Compliance & Diligence Specialist associate is vital to our continued success.


The Compliance and Diligence Specialist works in our Compliance Department. The Compliance and Diligence Specialist works with all products, including, without limitation, the lending support and payment processing lines of business. This position is responsible for organizing and maintaining the compliance resource library and updates policy documents with appropriate versioning and retention. The Compliance and Diligence Specialist works closely with the business unit leaders to understand business processes and formalizes those processes in a written procedure. The Compliance & Diligence Specialist monitors action items and follows up with risk owners regarding the status of assigned activities. The position is responsible for receiving and preparing documentation for management review responses to requests for documentation from stakeholders such as external auditors, regulatory authorities, sponsor banks, and merchants. Oversees and prepares relevant, accurate reports designed to assist management in making informed decisions.


Responsibilities:

·       Receive and prepare responses to external requests such as audits, exams, and due diligence requests from sponsor banks and merchants

·       Oversee and maintain the organization’s action item database, ensuring all identified issues are tracked and remediated.

·       Collaborate with other departments, such as Risk, to ensure consistency and alignment of compliance efforts across the organization.

·       Maintain positive working relationships with companywide management to provide input on risks and controls and ensure understanding of compliance requirements.

·       Establish positive working relationships with management and business partners to provide input on risks and controls and ensure understanding of compliance requirements.

 

Qualifications:

·       Demonstrated and progressive ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

·       Exceptional oral, aural, and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate upward, downward, and laterally

·       Ability to trace and document fact patterns and synthesize that information into cogent, actionable points

·       Critical thinking skills with the ability to ingest complex processes and reduce them to cogent points and efficient written procedures

·       Ability to produce relevant, actionable reports; analyze data and patterns to identify anomalies that may affect the accuracy of those reports

·       Proficient in presenting complex information and synthesized data in small group and

large format settings

·       Ability to influence without the need for control

·       Use logic and sound reasoning to identify and assess the strengths and weaknesses of

alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches

·       Exceptional attention to detail and data hygiene

·       Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team to

achieve goals and identify and solve problems

·       Ability to work in a rapidly changing, deadline intensive environment while effectively

managing multiple responsibilities and prioritizing accordingly

·       Intermediate knowledge of Windows or Mac based computers and computing software

including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

 

Required

·       Degree in business, finance, law or related or adjacent field.

·       2+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field within the financial services industry.

 

Strongly Preferred

·       Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to lending and adjacent activities

·       Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to payment processing and adjacent activities

·       Knowledge of MC/VISA requirements

·       Professional certifications in lending or payments related disciplines
