SUD Out-Patient Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of detox nursing, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients based on comprehensive assessment data
• Monitor patients’ progress and adjust care plans as needed in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team
• Educate patients about the detoxification process and what to expect during their stay
• Answer questions and address concerns in a compassionate and professional manner
• Serve as a resource for other nurses and healthcare professionals regarding detox care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to help improve the overall care provided to patients
• Keep abreast of new developments in the field of detox nursing through continued education and professional development opportunities
• Serve on committees and work groups as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current state license
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
• 2+ years of experience as an RN, preferably in detox or addiction treatment
• Knowledge of detoxification process and withdrawal management protocols
• Ability to assess patient needs and provide care accordingly
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathetic and compassionate bedside manner
