Appraisal Administrative Assistant
Position Summary:
This position reports to the Appraisal Department Manager and Staff Appraiser and is responsible for ordering third party appraisals of both residential and commercial properties to determine its value for purchase, investment, mortgage, and/ or other loan purposes. This position provides assistance to the Appraisal department in obtaining corrections to third party appraisals when errors are found during the review process. Also provides assistance in the preparation of in-house and full residential appraisal assignments, by receiving requests from lenders and setting up the assignments in the appraisal software.
Essential Functions:
- Data entry into Total Appraisal Software.
- Occasionally photograph exteriors of properties to assist staff appraisers in preparing reports.
- Assist with the search of public records for transactions such as sales, leases, and assessments.
- Assist with interviewing persons familiar with properties and immediate surroundings, such as contractors, home owners, and realtors, to obtain pertinent information..
- Maintain a log of all activity, for both in-house and outsourced appraisals, and a log of all invoices to be paid to third party appraisers by the Accounting department, to ensure proper accounting of fees charged and collected.

Working Conditions:
The work for this position is conducted in an office environment and travel at some point may be required to take subject & comp pictures. Travel for training and meetings may be required from time to time. This position may require some work on Saturdays and extended hours as workload and deadlines dictate.
Experience and Education:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required. Basic computer knowledge and ability to type necessary.
