Maintains operating condition of buildings and equipment, and completes mechanical repairs.
Responsible for varied, skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment. Performs manual and skilled work in several of the buildings and mechanical trades. Assignments may include routine preventive maintenance, assisting other skilled trade’s workers and performing skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Repairs guest room locks and hardware. Performs minor painting, wallpaper hanging, and furniture touch-up. Performs minor carpentry work including shaving doors, shelving, etc. Fully understand and complete all repairs from the Preventative Maintenance Program and keep up-to-date records as required. Fully understand the building plumbing system and makes minor repairs. Fully understand the location and general maintenance of the hotel telephone system. Fully understands the hotel’s heating and cooling system, in order to locate problems, make repairs, and regulate temperatures. Must have a working knowledge of basic hand tools and other equipment including; brushes, rollers, scrapers, sandpaper, spray guns, lifts, etc.
Responsible for proper maintenance of all guest room and public areas of Hotel and Casino in adherence to the franchise and corporate standards.
Responsible for physical property and furnishing in a manner consistent with that of a Resort operation. Performs woodworking refinish and repair, ability to patch and paint interior and exterior surfaces, repair plaster and stucco, the ability to install and repair vinyl and paper wall coverings, repair and refinish furniture, maintain stock and inventory for supplies. Maintain brushes, rollers and spray equipment. The ability to complete all assigned work in a safe manner, and communicate completed and pending work. Must keep a clean, neat and organized work area. The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Valley Forge Casino Resort. The ability to use all safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, and other potentially dangerous equipment. Ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by Resort Management.
Tech school; or 3 years of related experience and/or training, must be able to work in smoke-filled environments, Must be able to qualify for and maintain licensure as required by Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
