Restaurant Opening Manager - NYC

With an ever-growing list of locations, Sushi by Bou brings a high-end Omakase experience to the people in an intimate and speakeasy environment. Our timed Omakase is served at intimate counters and features the freshest of fish, both locally sourced, as well as brought in from all over the world.

We are immediately hiring a Restaurant Opening Manager to spearhead our openings and initiatives and help us in our national expansion!


Salary Range: $90k  $100k based on experience 

Location: Must be based in NYC


Responsibilities

  • Project manage entire new restaurant launch projects, from assisting with overseeing design and build, to hiring, staffing, training and initial setup of the venue

  • Break down complex multi-month projects into component parts and phases, create execution plans for each phase, and drive internal and external project teams

  • Keep projects on track through regular reporting, issue tracking status reports, meeting notes, and significant time on-site with our partners

  • Oversee setting up of Vendors, programming specific to the project, local recruitment, and act as a liaison to ownership

  • Have a clear understanding of potential roadblocks and escalate them through the proper channels to ensure project success

  • Manage project financials including overall project budget and reporting

  • Travel to new locations, and expect to spend 3 to 4 months at those sites overseeing the openings 

Qualifications or Requirements

  • 1+ years in project management roles  ideally opening and/or renovating restaurants or retail spaces
  • 4+ years as a General Manager in high volume and high end restaurants
  • Self-starter, with an independent approach to handling complex and diverse tasks across multiple fields. 
  • Ability to travel to different locations for new openings 

  • Experience managing multiple projects and in keeping a high level of organization

  • Collaborative and flexible attitude and ability to handle shifting priorities

  • Ability to assess needs, challenges, and risks, propose solutions, and know where to look or who ask if you dont know the answer

  • Strong communication skills both internally and externally, notably an ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task several projects at once without losing sight of the highest priority items

  • Solid track record of delivering projects on time

  • Excellent time management, and proven ability to multitask, work with tight deadlines and prioritize tasks

  • Strong TEAM & can do attitude
