Marketeer / Driver - Part-Time

As a Marketeer / Driver, you will be responsible for loading and driving our vans to Atwater’s to Atwater's Farmers markets in the surrounding DMV area, setting up the market stall, and selling our products directly to customers. This role combines delivery driving, market setup, and customer service to ensure our fresh, locally made foods and baked goods arrive safely and are presented well throughout the market day.

You must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be comfortable working in varying weather conditions. The Marketeer / Driver must also keep the vehicle clean and safe, work efficiently, and adapt to changing market conditions. You will represent Atwater’s by providing courteous, friendly customer service and maintaining a welcoming, organized market stand.

The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, comfortable selling to customers, and interested in learning about our ingredients and products in order to answer questions and recommend items.

SHIFT: Our market places operate at different hours. Shifts will be scheduled between the hours of 4am - 4pm

Responsibilities (include but not limited to): 

• Load food items and supplies required to take to the farmers market.
• Drive company van to assigned market location.
• Unload the vehicle and set up the Atwater’s market stall.
• Ensure food items are labeled, displayed, and presented correctly.
• Sell products to customers and provide accurate change at checkout.
• Answer customer questions and recommend products when appropriate.
• Ensure food items and presentation meet health department standards and safe work practices.
• Keep the market stall stocked, clean, organized, and inviting throughout the market day.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.

Qualifications:

• Ability to drive a 20 ft Box Truck (must submit a clean driving record from MVA).
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of ingredient information and products of Atwater’s.
• Ability to perform physical requirements: lift loads not to exceed 50 pounds, unassisted.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. rush hours, holidays, adverse conditions)
• Work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Experiences: Delivery, retail, or farmers market experience preferred. 

Compensation: $20 Per hour
