Front Desk Representative (Dental office)
Under the direct supervision of the Dental Manager, the Front Desk Representative serves as the first point of contact, managing patient check-ins, scheduling, telephone communication, and records management while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for greeting patients, scheduling patient appointments, ensuring all patient paperwork is properly completed including demographic and HIPAA forms.
· Assist in determine the financial status of patients and their eligibility for health services, assist patients in accurately completing appropriate forms and documents for the required information, collect co-pays, obtain authorizations from insurance companies when necessary, and enter in all patient information and financial information in the computer system in a timely manner.
· Collect and deposit fees according to protocols, prepare and balance daily financial registers and submit all forms and fees to the accounts department.
· Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective, productive relations with co-workers, supervisors, patients and the public.
· Maintains a neat/well organized work area. Responsible for maintaining an adequate number of supplies.
· Attends all in-service training as required.
· Always maintains patient confidentiality.
· Maintains Center confidentiality and Code of Compliance per policy.
· Performs other duties, as assigned.
· Learns how eCW (Electronic Medical Record) works and transfers that knowledge to other users.
· Provides direct and indirect support to other staff in his/her department in the delivery of patient care.
REQUIREMENTS
· High School Diploma/GED
· Associates Degree preferred
· 2-3 years’ experience in Customer Service-related roles.
