Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) to monitor asbestos abatement activities, conduct air monitoring, and ensure regulatory compliance on environmental projects. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, knowledgeable in asbestos regulations, and experienced in site safety monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site surveillance of asbestos abatement projects, ensuring compliance with AHERA, NESHAP, and OSHA regulations.
• Perform air monitoring, including clearance sampling and real-time exposure assessments.
• Assist Certified Asbestos Consultants (CACs) in preparing reports and documentation.
• Oversee contractor activities and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
• Collect and analyze bulk and air samples for asbestos and other hazardous materials.
• Maintain accurate logs, project documentation, and compliance records.

Required Certifications & Documentation:

• CSST (Certified Site Surveillance Technician) License (State of CA)
• CAC (Certified Asbestos Consultant) License (Preferred but not required)
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (Required)
• HAZWOPER 8-Hour Refresher (Current)
• Respiratory Clearance & Fit Test (Half Face Mask)

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in asbestos monitoring, air sampling, and abatement oversight.
• Strong knowledge of asbestos regulations and health & safety protocols.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in preparing reports and maintaining compliance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in lead, mold, or indoor air quality assessments (Preferred).
• Additional environmental certifications (Preferred).
• Familiarity with project management software and data collection tools.
