Hopkinton Seasonal Summer Position - Town Beach Supervisor

The Town of Hopkinton, Parks and Recreation Department, is seeking a Seasonal Summer Town Beach Supervisor for Sandy Beach.

Town Beach Supervisor:

The Town Beach Supervisor is a seasonal summer position. The individual in this position is responsible for overseeing all administrative and operational tasks, including, but not limited to serving as a lifeguard, supervising lifeguards and parking lot attendants, scheduling staff, reporting hours, managing the pass registration tablet, oversight of physical appearance of park and buildings, and ensuring compliance with beach policies and procedures. The position reports to the Program Coordinator/Summer Supervisor.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

One (1) to three (3) years of lifeguard and/or pool supervision experience, and excellent customer service skills.  Prior supervisory experience preferred. Candidates age 21 or older are preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard Training. Ability to obtain American Red Cross waterfront module* by the first day of employment. 
  
• Water Safety Instruction certification is preferred.
  
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license
  

*American Red Cross Waterfront Course Description

The Red Cross Waterfront Module is designed to train pool lifeguards in working non-surf beaches. You will be trained in using a mask & fins, searching shallow & deep water areas, and using a rescue board. Training will occur in both the pool and waterfront. Upon completing this course (including written and rescue skills testing), you will receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard Waterfront Training certificate which is only valid with a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate. 

Hourly Pay Range: $21.10 to $29.05 (Dependent on qualifications)
