Cider Technician

Cider Technician 

This Job Offers:

• $23.50/hour 
• Work Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; flexibility in hours required on canning days

Major Role & Responsibilities:

• To foster positive relations with employees in order to maintain good working relations at all levels.
• Lead the technical aspects of the Cider process to optimize cider quality, compliance and customer satisfaction
• To work within established Company policies and Procedures in order to ensure fair and consistent administration of all policies
• In collaboration with other departments, ensure production targets are met 
• Ensure accurate completion of all reports for areas of responsibility
• Direct and monitor employees in the compliance of GMP, HACCP and OHSA
• Creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WIN).
• Demonstrate company values in all activities and interpersonal relationships 
• Review yields and efficiencies and implement corrective action(s) for deficiencies
• Collaborate with management and employees to evaluate the current production metrics and target improvement opportunities
• Implement new solutions to address production issues, in co-ordination with functional process owners
• Assist with other special projects/process improvements as directed by Senior Leadership Team
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies related to cider.  Keeps up to date with technology and ideas that could be beneficial within the cider industry
• Ensure compliance to all quality attributes using analytical and qualitative testing
• Maintain/order supplies as needed
• Work with service providers as required
• Data entry to record and track KPI’s and important batch information
• Business Enterprise System experience to track in-process and finished goods
• Maintain a safety and organized work environment
• Strictly adhering to the organization's food safety and quality policies and Good Manufacturing Practices

Job Requirements:

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Heavy lifting to move hoses, piping, liquid pails
• Manufacturing Environment with exposure to dust, chemicals, temperature changes and noise. 
• Subject to various shifts and/or Overtime as required
• Fast Paced Environment 
• Forklift experience
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Strong project management and multi-tasking skills with proven experience in successfully managing and executing multiple initiatives

• Strong process/analytical skills in conjunction with innovative approaches

• Success at delivering results on both strategic and tactical objectives in a collaborative environment

• Competent computer skills in MS office applications –excel and outlook in particular

• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team with a positive attitude

• Ability to work independently, in entry-controlled space

• Post- Secondary Education, preferably in science or experience in the beverage manufacturing industry

• Manufacturing Environment with exposure to dust, chemicals, temperature changes and noise
