OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician Instructor to teach in the Pharmacy Technician program. Course delivery is hybrid with some course content delivered through our online learning environment and some in our on-campus pharmacy laboratory. Incumbents must have availability to instruct on campus. The instructional schedule is determined per course and based on instructor availability and course scheduling.
Instructors are responsible for the planning and delivery of dynamic and engaging assigned courses of study, using appropriate teaching and learning techniques in compliance with the college’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Share industry-related knowledge, expertise, and passion with students
Respond to student inquiries and provide feedback in a respectful and timely manner
Record student attendance and grades
Develop and maintain a supportive learning community
Provide guidance and support to adult learners
Deliver course content via Brightspace/D2L Learning Management System (LMS) and on-campus
Deliver instruction that meets course and program objectives as set out in the curriculum
Evaluate student performance fairly, promptly, and consistently
Collaborate with other teams (Student Support, Practicum and Career Services, Center for Teaching and Learning, etc.) to contribute positively to the student experience
Support the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience
Act in a manner that upholds the professional expectations and standards of Robertson College
Maintain an online presence in the Brightspace LMS by engaging and communicating with students to encourage their participation and learning
Evaluate and post grades in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Alberta College of Pharmacy License (Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist) required.
Current (within 18 months) experience in aseptic/sterile compounding required for instructing some program courses, an asset.
2+ years of work experience in a pharmacy community setting required.
Familiarity with the Kroll software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience instructing adults and/or delivering (individualized or group) workplace training an asset.
Certificate in Adult Education is an asset.
Able to use Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
Exhibits a high standard of work ethic and professionalism.
Experience with Desire 2 Learn learning management system an asset.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
Demonstrates confidence, positivity, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
Ability to problem-solve and process information.
