Program Coordinator - YWCA Youth Homes
Responsibilities: To work closely with the Youth Homes Team and youth to provide guidance and support to improve the youth’s quality of life. Develop and provide programming in life skills and cultural practices. Maintain a clean and secure facility and to aid the public and residents when necessary.
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education and/or previous experience working with youth.
· Early childhood development education or experience.
· Passionate and knowledgeable about cultural traditions, teachings and knowledge.
· Awareness of historical factors and intergenerational trauma; residential schools and other aspects of colonization.
· Knowledge of referral agencies.
· Open minded and willing to learn.
· Must have a Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence.
· Must pass YWCA Security Clearance with a successful vulnerable sector and criminal background check.
· Caring and compassionate attitude.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
· Knowledge of community resources, supports and other agencies.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Duties:
· Develop programming specifically geared to young mothers with babies, life skills, and cultural practices.
· Assistance in developing case plans for youth residents.
· Transport youth and children to and from recreational/cultural activities, as well as appointments.
· Provide support, referrals, and advocacy for the residents.
· Assistance with Program and Policy development.
· Liaise with the Ministry of Social Services.
· Ensure policies are adhered to as per contract with the Ministry of Social Services.
· Provide support to the clients of the YWCA Youth Peer Support Homes.
· Provide feedback to Youth Services Manager regarding client issues, incident reports, and major issues.
· Some administrative duties.
· Attend to crises as they arise. Contact the Youth Services Manager in the event of a major crisis.
· Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first.
· Must be able to work unsupervised.
· Statistical tracking and reporting.
· Maintain confidentiality.
· Submit montly programming reports to the Manager in a timely manner.
· Provide a monthly calendar of planned programming to Supervisors and the Manager
· Engage with appropriate community members and organizations to coordinate and facilate educational speakers/programs for youth.
· Ensure all required supplies and materials are available and prepared in advance for planned programming.
· Must be available for the on call rotation.
· Any other duties as requested.
Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three - month probation period.
