Business Development Strategist

What You’ll Be Doing

·       As a key member of the Business Development team, you will leverage your industry knowledge and contacts to develop and grow relationships with new and existing clients to expand Terracon’s market position in the Edmonton region.

·       Working closely with Terracon’s operations group, you will support and participate in business development activities through the sales life cycle. Specifically, you will be involved in market research, new client prospecting and cold calling, client meetings, client proposal development and follow up, negotiations, post project follow up, and maintaining existing client relationships.

·       A key aspect of this role will be developing Terracon’s brand in the local market through active participation in relevant industry groups and events as well as ensuring Terracon has a robust digital presence in the area.

·       Initiate efforts to aid Terracon’s ability to qualify for industry awards and recognition.

·       In depth client and competitor analysis that will lead to the development of new opportunities.


What We’re Looking For

·       Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Business Development/Sales role, preferably with a focus on professional services, oilfield services, or architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) industries. Alternatively, demonstrated success in a technical role will also be considered.

·       Superior communication skills with a successful track record of working across all levels of an organization.

·       Successful track record in translating organizational strategy and building a sales funnel from initial contact through to contract negotiations.

·       Attention to detail, strong organizational proficiency, and ability to work collaboratively are key in the success of this role.


Working Conditions, Schedule, and Physical Requirements

·       Legally authorized to work in Canada

·       Must have valid driver’s license

·       Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field

·       Education or field experience in civil/geotechnical engineering or geosciences is preferred
